The Versatility Ranch Horse Competition (VRH) showcases and demonstrates the athletic ability and versatility of the working ranch horse in six classes: ranch cutting, ranch riding, ranch trail, ranch reining, ranch cow work, and ranch conformation. There are divisions for open, amateur, cowboy, and youth. AQHA approved and classes for All Breeds!
AQHA Ranching Heritage Challenge
The NILE is proud to host Montana’s only AQHA Ranching Heritage Challenge and to be one of the Original Six Ranching Heritage Challenge shows in the country. As an Original Six event, the NILE receives additional support from AQHA, bringing a minimum of $17,500 in added money for 2026.
The Ranching Heritage Challenge celebrates ranch-bred American Quarter Horses and the versatility, soundness, and willing attitude needed on a working ranch. Eligible horses must be bred by an enrolled AQHA Ranching Heritage Breeder.
Exhibitors are responsible for checking with AQHA prior to the event to ensure their horse is paid up and eligible to compete in Ranching Heritage Challenge classes.
