The cattle drive is coming back to billings!

2014 was the last time NILE hosted a Cattle Drive, and we’re excited to bring it back in partnership with the Billings Industrial Revitalization District (BIRD)!

The cattle drive will kick off the 2023 NILE Stock Show and Rodeo, taking place the first Saturday of the NILE, October 14. It will start at 9 AM and go until about 12PM. There will be coffee and breakfast food trucks available around the drive route for everyone to enjoy.

The drive will be running in the heart of the East Billings Urban Renewal District (EBURD), right past many of the western and agricultural businesses that have been staples in the EBURD since its establishment. The drive will start at 13th St. going down 2nd Ave. The turnaround will be at 17th St. and will go back up 3rd Ave to where it began on 13th St. 

There will be no fee to come and enjoy the drive, everyone is welcome to come and watch as cattle, horse-drawn wagons, equestrian groups and other western-themed groups walk the streets of the EBURD. There will be food trucks and live music as well as opportunities to get up close to the animals in an animal viewing area. Feel free to bring lawn chairs to get comfy and enjoy the drive.

After the cattle drive, everyone is invited to come to the NILE for photo ops with Miss Rodeo Montana at the NILE Longhorn show, watch the Runnin’ the Rims Barrel race, and visit tons of great vendors in the trade shows – all of which is free family entertainment!
